Saying I wasn't excited about this movie would be an understatement, in all honesty I haven't been impressed with the Seth Rogen wheel house since This Is The End. It seems since than Hollywood has given these guys a license to do whatever they please with nobody to tell them otherwise. All that being said and the surrounding controversy put aside, I was surprised by this movie. Was it their best work? nope. Is it a thought provoking film? By no stretch of the imagination. Will you have a good time watching this movie along with some genuine laughs? Of course. And in my opinion that's what a comedy is supposed to do. Sure there are some crazy over the top slap stick "jokes" in here but what else do you expect from a movie starring James Franco and Seth Rogen about a Tv host picked to assassinate the Supreme Leader of North Korea. If you wanna see James Franco be the talented actor that he is you will have to wait until later this year when True Story comes out, but until than this is a fun comedy. Also a bit of a side note this film is nice to look at for being an over the top comedy they did not skimp on directing chops. The Interview receives a Hesh Stamp of approval.
